Fedecom and CEMA
Fedecom is a member of CEMA (European Agricultural Machinery Association), the European trade association for the agricultural machinery sector. Through CEMA, the sector’s collective interests are represented before the European Commission, the European Parliament, and other European institutions.
For you as a Fedecom member, this means that your interests are also represented in Brussels. After all, much of the legislation and regulation that affects your business originates at the European level. Through CEMA, Fedecom is involved at an early stage in issues such as machine safety, emissions, digitization, data, autonomous machines, cybersecurity, and precision agriculture.
By actively participating in CEMA working groups, Fedecom contributes the practical experience of Dutch companies to the development of new European regulations. At the same time, Fedecom provides you with early insight into new legislation, European market developments, and technical innovations.

CEMA Product Groups: Working Together on the Future of Agricultural Technology
Much of the European legislation and regulations affecting agricultural machinery do not come about overnight. Manufacturers and industry organizations collaborate at an early stage to share knowledge, monitor market developments, and develop joint positions. Within CEMA, this takes place in the European Product Groups.
These product groups bring together the leading European manufacturers of agricultural machinery and focus on five machinery categories:
- Crop protection equipment —field and orchard sprayers.
- Seeders and fertilizer spreaders —including precision seeders.
- Soil-tilling machinery —such as plows, cultivators, and harrows.
- Pasture machinery —including mowers, rakes, tedders, forage wagons, and balers.
- Manure Technology – machinery for manure storage, transport, and low-emission manure application.
More Than Just Statistics
The product groups are much more than a platform for market statistics. Participants collaborate on:
- collecting reliable European market data;
- the exchange of knowledge about innovations and technical developments;
- monitoring European laws and regulations;
- developing joint positions to present to European institutions;
- Collaboration in the areas of standards, machine safety, digitization, and sustainability.
Precisely because manufacturers from all over Europe are at the table, developments are identified early on and challenges can be addressed collectively.
Fedecom Role
As a Dutch trade association, Fedecom is actively involved in CEMA and represents the interests of the Dutch sector within these European product groups. Furthermore, Fedecom serves as the secretariat for the European Grassland Equipment Product Group, in which European manufacturers of grassland machinery collaborate on market information, technical developments, and joint advocacy.
For Dutch manufacturers and importers, this means that through Fedecom , they are directly connected to European developments that shape the future of the sector.
