Working together on future-oriented education in agricultural technology

Education and the business world are inextricably linked. Technological developments in our sector are advancing at a rapid pace—and that requires continuous learning and adaptation, both in businesses and in education.
Within Platform TIM, Fedecom collaborates with thirteen vocational schools (MBO) to foster precisely that connection: ensuring that education and real-world practice reinforce each other.
The beauty of this collaboration is that, together, we ensure, among other things, that education remains up-to-date and forward-looking. At Fedecom , we believe it is important that new developments from the business world find their way into the classroom and the curriculum—so that students acquire the knowledge and skills that are immediately applicable in practice.
At Aventus, the Agricultural Engineering program has been further updated. A few years ago, the Agricultural Engineering program at Aventus included a separate specialization called Agrotronica. Using project-based learning, this specialization focused specifically on the latest technologies in agricultural mechanization. Now, several years later, more and more students are seeking out these new techniques in agricultural mechanization. Demand from the professional field for students with this specific knowledge is also on the rise.
The Agrotronics specialization is now being further integrated into the broader program. All Aventus students are now working on projects related to ISO-BUS, GPS integration and calibration, and electric propulsion (High Voltage). As a result, all students in the program are equipped with the latest technological knowledge and skills.
Whereas these subjects previously constituted a separate specialization track, they are now part of the regular curriculum. Students work with cutting-edge technologies in their projects and learn to use digital systems and electric drives. In this way, they are equipped with knowledge and skills that are directly applicable to real-world practice.
This development demonstrates how vocational education is adapting to modern agricultural technology, where innovation, sustainability, and technology go hand in hand. Students are thus trained to become skilled professionals who are ready for the challenges and opportunities of the modern agricultural sector.
