New application form for individual approval of vehicles in categories R, S, and U

Within the RDW’s T&B-B department, many vehicles are inspected annually based on individual approval requirements. During the application and processing of these requests, ambiguities sometimes arise regarding the submitted application, which unnecessarily disrupt the process. These ambiguities include: “Who is the applicant?”, “Who is the manufacturer of the completed vehicle?”, “What technical masses apply?”, “What is the purpose of the body?”, “Are lower statutory masses desired?” Additionally, the applicant is not always present during the assessment to clarify these ambiguities.

To improve this application process and ensure smooth processing, the RDW recently introduced a revised application form for the individual approval of agricultural or forestry trailers (category R), interchangeable towed equipment (category S), and mobile machinery (category U). This allows interested parties to submit a written application for approval.

On this form, the applicant enters the specific characteristics of the vehicle required to process the application. Instructions on how to fill in the specific characteristics are included with the form. The applicant must complete this application form in advance and bring it to the inspection. If the form is not suitable for the application, you will be notified. The application form can be filled out digitally and is available on the RDW website.
