More than 7,500 machines SKL inspected in 2024

In 2024, more than 7,500 agricultural and spraying machines were inspected in the Netherlands, nearly 60% of which required repairs due to defects such as leaks and worn parts. The results underscore the importance of periodic inspections for the safe and efficient application of crop protection products and the prevention of emissions.

Over the past calendar year, more than 7,500 machines were inspected by all SKL-accredited inspection stations in the Netherlands. These included more than 3,500 field sprayers, 670 orchard and avenue tree sprayers, 1,400 spraying systems for greenhouse horticulture, and other categories such as weed and row sprayers, LVM/fog machines, granule spreaders, and other machinery.

An analysis of the inspection results showed that nearly 60% of the inspected machines required repairs, primarily due to leaks, worn spray nozzles, and other defects. Approximately 400 new machines were exported to other EU countries with a valid SKL inspection certificate.

These figures highlight the importance of periodic inspections for the safe and efficient application of crop protection products while preventing emissions.
