Fedecom endorses the position of Koninklijke Metaalunie in its response to the Framework Agreement

On May 16, the parties forming the new government—PVV, VVD, NSC, and BBB—reached a Framework Agreement. Fedecom aligns with the position of Koninklijke Metaalunie in its response to the Framework Agreement. Fedecom is pleased that innovation in agricultural and horticultural policy is a key component of the Framework Agreement. Innovation must be able to be implemented quickly and in a legally sound manner so that objectives are achieved. In addition, a separate innovation program will be established for automation in agriculture and horticulture to reduce the labor force. Financial resources must be made available for this purpose, so that the entire agricultural sector can remain a leader in every area.

Fedecom seeks predictability and clarity in policy, as this is crucial for a healthy business climate. This applies to every small and medium-sized enterprise (SME), but particularly to agricultural businesses and all companies, importers, agricultural machinery manufacturers, and LMB companies.

Key points that stand out include the prioritization of the following themes: availability of talent, strengthening the knowledge economy, innovation, and digital infrastructure. Here, too, intentions must be realized and supported with the necessary resources. Fedecom welcomes all these intentions (while recognizing that Brussels plays a major role in this) and will advocate for our members’ interests to the best of our ability.
