Various platforms and networks are available forfinding high school and college students for internships and apprenticeships. For vocational high school (MBO) students, Stagemarkt.nland Leerbanenmarkt.nl arethe main platforms. For students in higher professional education (HBO) and university (WO) programs,JobTeaser is widely used.
Reaching secondary school students
Secondary school students also regularly look for opportunities to do an exploratory internship.
Companies wishing to reach high school students are advised to contact guidance counselors, internship coordinators, or career guidance coordinators at schools in the region. They can connect companies with students who are looking for an internship.
Vocational high school students can find opportunities through Stagemarkt and Leerbanenmarkt
Stagemarkt.nl and Leerbanenmarkt.nl are the main platforms for vocational students (MBO) looking for an internship or apprenticeship.
To be visible on these platforms, your company must: ·
- Recognized by SBB as a training company; and
- have posted a current internship or apprenticeship opportunity.
Not yet an accredited training company? Apply for accreditation through SBB or read “Becoming an Accredited Training Company.”
Keep your apprenticeship openings up to date
Simply being recognized as a training company is not enough. Students will only find your company if you have also registered current internship or apprenticeship positions.
Through MijnSBB, you can:
- Submit new internship and apprenticeship opportunities;
- modify existing apprenticeship positions;
- Add a logo, photos, and videos to your company profile.
New apprenticeship openings are automatically posted on sites such as Stagemarkt.nl and Leerbanenmarkt.nl.
Why staying up to date is important
Recently updated apprenticeship listings appear higher in the search results. Therefore, check regularly to make sure your internship opportunities, apprenticeship openings, and contact information are still up to date.
Reach college and university students through JobTeaser
To find students at universities of applied sciences and research universities, you can use JobTeaser. This platform is used by many universities of applied sciences and research universities to connect students and employers.
Through JobTeaser, you can post job openings for:
- internships;
- thesis projects;
- traineeships;
- entry-level positions.
For internships at the higher professional education (HBO) and university (WO) levels, there is no national accreditation system as there is for senior secondary vocational education (MBO). The conditions for an internship are determined by the educational institution. An internship host company must provide sufficient opportunities for students to achieve the program’s learning objectives and offer them adequate guidance.
Collaborate with educational institutions
In addition to online platforms, direct contact with educational institutions can also help in finding students and trainees. By collaborating with schools, companies can introduce young people to the sector and the opportunities within the company at an early stage.
For vocational education (MBO) programs, you can contact the school’s BPV (Vocational Practice Training) coordinator. This coordinator helps students find an internship or work-study placement and can connect companies with suitable candidates.
By building relationships with educational institutions in your region, you can increase awareness of your company among students and teachers.
More information about becoming an accredited training company, managing internship positions and apprenticeships, and finding interns can be found in the SBB Knowledge Base.
